COCHIN HIGHLIGHTS WITH HARBOUR CRUISE AND LUNCH at Fort Kochi Heritage Hotel
On this ethnic trip, you will get a firsthand look at Cochin’s everyday life.
The best way to really experience the attractions of stunning old Cochin is to take advantage of this 7-hour city trip, which combines minibus transportation with a leisurely cruise on the backwaters. You will explore this beautiful city from every perspective.
Begin by taking a tour of the well-known Chinese fishing nets in Cochin. The enormous cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, which like enormous hammocks as they droop into the sea, have come to symbolize Fort Kochi on postcards. After that, you’ll go to the Dutch Palace, also called the Mattancherry Palace, which houses exhibitions about the Rajas of Cochin, murals from Kerala, and artwork from Hindu temples. This charming monument is constructed in the shape of a quadrangle, and in the center of the courtyard is a modest temple honoring the guardian gods of the Cochin royal line.
You will drive to Fort Cochin to see the churches and historic Tudor-style residences built by the English merchants who once called this place home after exploring this small haven. Here, before you walk to the harbor, you may see St. Francis Church, a charming white-washed religious facility established in 1503 by Franciscan friars. You will have a refreshing drink or high tea at a nearby resort before hopping on a boat for a tour around the harbor, which used to be crowded with foreign traders on the Malabar Coast looking to make big money. You will be able to see numerous villages, churches, and landmarks as you go on a serene guided tour around the scenic islets of Gundu, Bolghatty, and Vallarpadam. You may see a 1676-built church in Vallarpadam that is home to a portrait of the Blessed Virgin Mary. According to traditional beliefs, the image possesses supernatural abilities and has repeatedly prevented terrible storms from rescuing its followers.
You will be able to see the inhabitants going about their everyday lives as you cruise about the harbor. At a jetty near the pier, your boat tour will come to an end. At the conclusion of the excursion, there will be a brief transport to your ship. We’re going to the Fort Kochi Heritage Hotel for lunch.

COCHIN – OPTION II
Backwaters Of Alappuzha By Houseboat & Lunch at Marari Beach Resort
You will travel through one of India’s most picturesque and serene landscapes as you depart Cochin by minibus: a rural stretch of lush rice terraces and coconut palms.
The network of rivers, lakes, canals, and lagoons that intricately connects the coastal and interior areas south of Kochi is referred to as the “backwaters.” These canals have been a reliable and effective way for people and products to go between Kerala’s interior and the coastal port towns for generations. Rice, coconuts, pepper, and other products are still transported down the waterways by traditional barges called kettuvallams.
A dense network of tropical waterways encircles the town of Alappuzha. Here, you’ll board a houseboat and embark on a three-hour, picture-perfect journey through the backwaters shaded by palm trees and woodlands. From the cozy boat deck, cruise past glistening canals dotted with lush tropical vegetation while taking in the rural Keralan way of life. Views vary from expansive vistas of vivid green paddy fields to little canals surrounded by dense vegetation. Along the palm-lined banks, acres of papaya, mango, jackfruit, and cassava grow, and among the trees, one may see glimpses of churches, mosques, and temples.
Keep an eye out for the bright green of a wild parakeet or the blue flash of a kingfisher.
After the cruise, take a motorcoach back to Cochin, stopping on route at the Marari Beach Resort for a lunch buffet including regional specialties and some free time.
Please remember to apply sunscreen, bring a hat, and pay for any use of the beach, pool, or other facilities at Marari Beach Resort. (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
